February Update and Favorites

I can not believe February has already come and gone. While, I was erasing my February Calendar on my dry erase calendar and just couldn’t believe the month had gone by so fast.

I was dealing with still being sick at the beginning of the month. But still working on the bathroom. I did finally finish the bathroom about a month-long project. But I took it day by day and didn’t put a time limit on it. We also celebrated Dustin’s birthday. My parents came over we celebrated his birthday the weekend after and my Dad helped us with our trim work in the bathroom.

We had a snowstorm and we got to have a couple of snow days which was so nice! Kapper enjoyed all the snow!

I made a huge step with all my anxiety and drove about 45 minutes away and had dinner in the restaurant. I have been eating out around in my town but never further away in a different town. We ate at Five Guys and Fries, we hadn’t had it in so long! We even did some shopping afterward and before we went home. I was so proud of myself. Babysteps people. A year ago I wouldn’t have even thought that was possible.

Love of Donuts (the right kind)

We tried a couple of local bakeries and their donuts. One is a true winner and I am obsessed. I use to say I didn’t like donuts. Turns out I just needed to find good-tasting ones.

I made the announcement that I am an ambassador for Our Family Foods! So excited to share with you all! I have been using Our Family Foods has been in my house growing up and now as an adult!

We signed up for Home Chef Meals and I am loving them! They not only taste good but they are so convenient. It takes the guesswork out of dinner and it is cheaper than grocery shopping. We get 3 meals a week and try to pick more of the oven-ready meals. out of the 12 meals we have had so far there was one we didn’t like.

There will be a separate post for the completed bathroom. If you follow Roost Eleven Eighteen on Instagram I have been sharing the progress reels leading up to the big reveal.

I found THE BEST honey mustard recipe. I am obsessed!

Seed Starting in February!

The most exciting thing in February is SEED STARTING! So far I have sowed bell peppers, sweet peppers, oregano, lavender, bunching onions, Walla Walla Onions, marigolds, Snapdragons, Portucolas, Chrysthmums, Gazanias, and Morning Glorys. I have more to start in early March! It is crazy to believe that Spring will be here before we know it! I still have so much to get done. We want to get more garden boxes built and the fence up around the garden area.

I have seen real progress towards my healthy lifestyle goals! I touched on this in my Instagram stories. But it has really been about little changes. Before I would just quit eating everything I loved but it never lasted very long because I wasn’t happy and I was depriving myself. I stopped drinking pop, and just drinking water and tea. Then I started being more consistent with taking walks. Then I started incorporating more fruits and vegetables and not eating potatoes and pasta constantly. I still have a long way to go, but this is what I have been doing thus far and I am really enjoying it!

Thank you for reading along! Check out my favorites of the month! As always make sure you are following Roost Eleven Eighteen on Instagram.
